National Domestic Violence Hotline

I served as senior strategist for more than 2 years to support the National Domestic Violence Hotline. My work included media training for all executive and senior staff, message development for internal and external audiences, launching a new, responsibly developed AI chatbot to support survivors. My work helped the Hotline secure an emergency waiver to fund its work amid February 2025 budget cuts that would have defunded 80% of the Hotline’s budget.

I also led pitching, placement and all preparation for two major stories, an extensive profile of a day at the Hotline in The New York Times, and an ESPN story reviewing the relationship between the National Football League and the Hotline.

A full case study about my work, in partnership with my Spitfire colleagues, can be found here.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

I organized and led media training at the Aquarium for all executive staff, including founding executive director Julie Packard. I also pitched and organized logistics for an NBC national story profiling the Aquarium’s work to restore sea otters and help protect kelp forests in Monterey Bay.
