Effective internal communication is the backbone of any thriving organization.
From fast-moving companies to mission-driven nonprofits, employees must be aligned with leadership, understand clear goals, and feel heard, supported, and motivated in their work. When communication breaks down internally, it leads to confusion, inefficiency, and disengagement. And in today’s highly charged and fast moving political landscape, news can distract, raise sensitive questions, or even cause negative personal impacts on employees, especially those from marginalized backgrounds.
My work focuses on building clear, inclusive, and consistent internal communication that fosters trust, reduces silos, and creates space for honest feedback and shared understanding. I specialize in crafting tailored communication plans to roll out or respond to initiatives, accessible message frameworks on sensitive topics, on- and offline events to build trust, particularly for diverse workforces across language, geography, and lived experiences. I’ve prepared executives for all-hands and 1-1 engagement, planned and facilitated retreats, galas and outside events, and have an intentional approach to measuring outcomes to make sure efforts are succeeding.
A sample list of clients I support with internal and executive communications include Greenpeace, Marin Community Foundation, Public Counsel, and The Wilderness Society. Additional leadership roles include fostering internal communications at my own firms – Courage California, UltraViolet, and Spitfire Strategies.
